What Division physicians are saying about UpToDate

Three Divisions of Family Practice members talk about the benefits of using UpToDate.

More than 30 division physicians have provided unpaid written and video testimonials to share their stories about how UpToDate helps them make better decisions and improves patient care. The above video can be embedded or link to from your website and posted on social media. Note that these physician testimonials were provided in response to a request from UpToDate to their registered DoFP users. In keeping with UpToDate’s policies as a provider of unbiased evidence-based information, no financial compensation was offered.

A member resource

An increasing number of physicians are using online tools to help them make clinical decisions at the point of care. Many local division websites include “resource” tabs where UpToDate can be included as a member resource with a live link to the Divisions UpToDate information page.

An easy-to-read infographic provides an overview of UpToDate’s features and content.

Because online point-of-care tools are constantly evolving, not all physicians are familiar with product names. The following text can be used to describe UpToDate:

UpToDate is an award-winning online clinical decision support resource, available to Divisions of Family Practice members for use in individual practices at no cost to the individual physician. Visit your local Division website to become a division member and access more than 10,000 peer-reviewed topics in 21 specialties from international and Canadian authors, as well as drug information, medical calculators, and patient information sheets. All UpToDate topic searches are CME eligible for registered users.

Free on-site training workshops and webinars

A number of local divisions have taken advantage of personalized UpToDate training for their members at no cost, either by offering onsite workshops or hosting webinars led by UpToDate trainers. Contact your Engagement Partner to learn more about booking a workshop or webinar. Training materials, including posters and videos, are also available.

Online tutorials

UpToDate provides online tutorials and video demos about topics including how to redeem CME credits, and conducting searches for information and graphics.

Mobile access: UpToDate Anywhere

In addition to the desktop version, physicians can access UpToDate remotely on most mobile devices with the UpToDate Anywhere mobile app at no extra cost. An information sheet provides more details and can be included in new member orientation packages, distributed at meetings, or used as a poster in offices, clinics, and hospitals.

Easy CME redemption

Physicians researching clinical questions in UpToDate are eligible for CME Mainpro credits. To acquire credits, users must be registered with UpToDate and must be logged in via the Divisions website. Tracking and reporting credits is a seamless process that is activated in the registered physician’s account every time they log in. More information about earning CME credits.
