Your local family doctors and nurse practitioners are here for you to ensure your medical needs are addressed during this pandemic, and we want to stress how important it is for people to continue to make sure they receive ongoing care from their family doctor or nurse practitioners. It's easier than ever to see your primary caregiver - just call their office! Most visits are now taking place via video or phone, to ensure you receive the care you need (including any medications), from the safety of your home. If an in-person visit is needed, the office will arrange that, too, in a way that will be safe. Just book with them like you always do.

The Central Island Division of Family Practice
The Central Island Division of Family Practice, formed in 2019 through a union of the Oceanside and Port Alberni Divisions, is a local non-profit society of community-based primary care physicians and nurse practitioners based in Central Vancouver Island, with our area stretching South from Nanoose Bay all the way up to Bowser and all of the communities in between, from the East Coast of Vancouver Island right to the West Coast. Whilst our communities are diverse, the Division gives local primary care providers an opportunity to work collaboratively with Island Health, the GPSC, and the Ministry of Health to identify health care needs in the local community and develop solutions to meet those needs. Our members work together to increase family practitioner influence on health care delivery in our region, enhance professional satisfaction to general practitioners, and improve patient care in our area.
