Our Impact
Based on priorities identified by our members, the Division is actively pursuing several initiatives to enhance health care in our community.
Our Division, through six different initiatives, is working to connect Comox Valley residents with family doctors, enhance patient care and improve patient access to community resources.
In collaboration with Island Health and St Joseph’s General Hospital, we are exploring ways to optimize care for our growing senior population.
Through this Shared Care initiative, our Division is assessing region-wide needs from both the patient and health care providers’ perspectives and working collaboratively to develop solutions that meet identified gaps.
To protect public health, we are helping patients manage use of these powerful medications and collaborating with RCMP to keep them off the street.
Our Division is committed to supporting the health of our Aboriginal community through collaboration and culturally safe care.
In partnership with the Comox Valley Emergency Preparedness Program, we are developing a region-wide plan to help ensure that if a crisis or disaster strikes, we are ready to meet increased acute care needs.
Our Division is participating in the Shared Care initiative to improve children and youth’s access to mental health and substance use supports in our community.
