Denman Island services about 1300 residents and is a beautiful Island at the north end of the Salish Sea. With the retirement of one physician December 2021 and the other physician December 2022, there will be increasing opportunity for someone wanting to provide care to varied population. Together with Hornby Island plans are being made to create a Community Health Centre (CHC) which would provide services to both Islands. This would create an exciting opportunity to provide primary care services with strong community support and team based care. Already there are allied health professionals including a pharmacist, social worker, MHSU counsellor and physiotherapy coming to the Island.

The clinic has 2 rooms although the second room is also used by allied health professionals and lifelabs who come to the Island on Wednesday for blood tests on Island residents. An office receptionist answers the phone, checks in patients, faxes as necessary and is available to answer any questions. |
