Dr. Sheik has been practicing in Surrey-North Delta since 2014, where he runs a full-service family practice with three other physicians. After completing his internship in Cape Town in 2005, Dr. Sheik worked for three years as a medical officer in Kimberley, the capital city of South Africa’s Northern Cape province.  

Following his immigration to Canada, Dr. Sheik was a rural physician with Interior Health in Logan Lake, BC from 2009 to 2014.  

He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Cape Town and received his Certification in the College of Family Physicians in Canada, in 2013. 

In addition to his work with the Surrey-North Delta Board of Directors, Dr. Sheik volunteers at his local Muslim centre. 

When he isn’t working or volunteering, Dr. Sheik enjoys spending time with his three children and watching Marvel movies. He also loves watching basketball – just don’t ask him to play!
