Lauren Semkow
Attachment Coordinator
Lauren Semkow serves as the Attachment Coordinator at our organization. With a strong educational background, Lauren holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of British Columbia (UBC). Her journey in the healthcare field began as a research assistant in a diabetes lab at BC Children's Hospital and continued at a UBC zoology lab, where she worked with mosquitoes! Currently, Lauren is expanding her expertise by taking courses in the Medical Laboratory Assistant program at Thompson Rivers University (TRU).
In her role as Attachment Coordinator, Lauren plays a crucial part in supporting our members and improving healthcare access in the Fraser Northwest region. On a weekly basis, she diligently updates our internal registry of unattached patients, with the ultimate aim of connecting these individuals with Family Physicians and Nurse Practitioners. She also contributes to the Health Connect Registry list, which is instrumental in providing support to patients within the FNW region. Moreover, Lauren actively builds relationships with healthcare professionals within the community, constantly assessing their capacity to accept new patients.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Lauren finds joy in various personal interests. She is an avid runner and a passionate outdoor enthusiast, embracing adventures on foot, bike, and skis. Furthermore, her culinary curiosity leads her to explore new flavours both in restaurants and at home.
