Online session on how to use the Burnaby Resource Directory
The 1-hr online session was focused on resource navigation using the Burnaby Resource Directory. This public-facing tool was developed as part of the Shared Care Mental Health and Community Project, and designed for community providers trained as Mental Health Community Connectors to signpost Burnaby residents to resources around mental health and its social determinants.
The session was facilitated by Jessica Walker (PCN Social Worker) and took place on Thursday, March 7th 2024, 6 - 7 pm on Zoom. All physicians were able to receive 1-hour sessional payment for attending the event.
Mental Health and Community, and Improving Medical Visits for Patients with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD)
This physician event was focused on two Burnaby Shared Care Projects - Mental Health and Community, and Improving Medical Visits for Patients with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).
The session encompassed short speeches from patient partners, presentations from the project teams, and an interactive panel discussion on generating ideas to improve mental health care, and health experiences for patients with IDD.
The event was held on Wednesday, October 25th 2023 from 5.30 - 8pm, and was offered both in-person (at the Burnaby Hilton), and virtually (on Zoom).
The agenda included:
5.30 - 6pm: Doors open and sign in; in-person buffet dinner and networking (in-person only)
6 - 8pm: Main event (in-person and virtual)
All physicians were able to receive 1 hour sessional payment for attending the event. In addition, Family Physicians received 1 CME credit.
