Director of Strategic Initiatives and PCN
Jody is a Physician Engagement and Support Lead with the Division. She works to support local family physicians and their primary health care initiatives through project management.
With the Division, she has supported a number of initiatives, including the development of the Primary Care Network and Patient Medical Home models within the local community; the implementation of the Pathways online referral tool; connecting unattached patients to local family physicians; supporting health care for refugees and newcomers to Surrey and North Delta; and the Surrey-North Delta MOA Network.
In her role, Jody enjoys getting to know the physicians and MOAs working to support the health of their individual patients and our community as a whole, and to witness the passion of those who are working on the front lines of health care and social support services.
Jody is grateful for the opportunity her role provides to collaborate with others and think creatively about how the team can best support family physicians. Every day is a learning opportunity!
Jody has a Master of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario, and is close (June 9th) to completing her Certificate in Project Management from the University of British Columbia. She has had a number of different roles at the division, starting as the Pathways Administrator in 2014, then moving to a Health Promotion Coordinator role before taking on her current role.
After having been away on maternity leave for the past year, Jody is looking forward to rejoining the Surrey-North Delta Division team. She has learned a lot this year, particularly that she has a lot to learn!
She is currently working her way through Deborah Madison's "The New Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone" and dreaming of her next cycling adventure.
