Samina Hossain | Evaluator and Data Analyst
Samina is an Evaluator and Data Analyst with the Division, where she collaborates closely with the Physician Engagement and Support (PES) team and across the organization to provide meaningful interpretation of data. Her work supports efforts to enhance physician engagement and enrich their overall experience within the Division.
Passionate about the stories data can tell, Samina is driven to translate numbers into insights that inform continuous quality improvement initiatives. Her ultimate goal is to help create a work environment where physicians experience greater job satisfaction, improved safety and efficiency, and a reduced administrative burden—all contributing to more streamlined patient care, higher patient satisfaction, and improved health outcomes across the community.
An internationally trained medical graduate, Samina earned her Master of Public Health from the University of British Columbia. She has conducted research in cancer misinformation and contributed to the quality improvement of the Cancer Statistics Dashboard. Prior to moving to Canada, she had the privilege of working with some of the most equity-deserving populations in rural Bangladesh.
Outside of work, Samina is an avid reader who enjoys long walks, yoga, tailoring summer dresses and spending time with her cat, Mimi. She is deeply curious about the role of AI in healthcare, particularly the ethics surrounding AI technologies, as well as the impact of social media and misinformation on public health and well-being.
