
Amela is an Attachment and Project Coordinator at the Surrey–North Delta Division. In this role, she works in partnership with family physicians, nurse practitioners, and Primary Care Network (PCN) partners to design and implement an integrated, community-wide attachment program.
With over 21 years of healthcare experience, including extensive leadership experience as a Clinic Manager, Amela brings a strong understanding of clinic operations, physician needs, and team-based care. She has built trusted relationships with physicians, clinic staff, and healthcare partners throughout her career.
Amela began her healthcare career in 2004 as a Medical Office Assistant and transitioned into clinic management within a few years. Since then, she has led multidisciplinary teams, coordinated day-to-day clinic operations, and supported efficient, patient-centered care. She is well-versed in multiple EMR systems, medical billing processes, and patient management workflows.
Amela holds a Medical Office Assistant Diploma and a Pharmacy Technician Diploma from Sprott Shaw College, as well as nursing school training from Bosnia and Herzegovina. She has also completed various workshops and professional development sessions focused on leadership, communication, and medical office processes.
Outside of work, Amela enjoys spending quality time with her family, going for nature walks, baking, and watching movies.
