As an Island Health rural "C" community, our family physicians that live and work in Central Island may be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:

-Annual Flat Fee - $7011.18
-Rural CME starting at $2,200/annum years 3&4 in the community, to a maximum of $4,400/annum after 4 years.

Seeking 1 practice share partner, to join an existing family physician at this well-established 650 panel family practice. The clinic is located in a bright, new building in beautiful Port Alberni and is shared with two other physicians. Hours are flexible and some can be done virtually or from home, with the option of expanding in the future. There is a full-time PCN nurse in the clinic, shared amongst the providers. There is also a link nurse to help with the management of the most frail and vulnerable patients. This is a great opportunity for someone who has an interest in also doing ER shifts or hospitalist work in the community. It offers a better balance so that you can enjoy various facets of family medicine. The friendly staff consists of 3.5 medical office assistants. The building is home to a pediatrician, pharmacy, holter and basic cardiac testing clinic, as well as a skin clinic, and acupuncture and massage. Next door is home to Port Alberni’s internal medicine group. Overhead cost split will be based on the number of days in office. Currently the overhead is split evenly between the three physicians, about 23% of income. Port Alberni, a coastal city with a population of 18,000, is situated in the majestic Alberni Valley surrounded by breathtaking scenery. The current physician is planning on retirement but is happy to stay on through the transition. This bright, modern clinic uses MedAccess EMR. There are 2 experienced and friendly Medical Office Assistants. This practice is a part of a larger group of independently working physicians who cover each other during vacation times. The West Coast General Hospital (WCGH) is seeking family physicians to join our ‘Community Hospital Inpatient Physician’ (CHIP) team. Full time or part time positions are available. In this role CHIP team members will act as MRP care for unattached & unassigned inpatients to the Family Practice service at WCGH. This includes rounding on inpatients to the service, arranging service transfers and inter-facility repatriations, discharge planning and responding to urgent calls for admitted patients under this service. The Oceanside Primary Care Network is seeking family practitioners to work collaboratively together as a group and with other health care providers (e.g. registered nurses, occupational therapists, and clinical pharmacists) as members of a Priority Response Team (PRT). This team will provide primary care consultative services, to include clinical assessments and care planning, for local patients in their homes 365 days per year. The Priority Response Team (PRT), in partnership with Oceanside’s community health care teams, supports the provision of expedited primary care to patients in Oceanside’s small and rural communities. The group of physicians will be expected to collectively provide 2,520 hours of clinical services per fiscal year. Patient care will be provided for about 7 hours each day generally between 1000 and 1800, however, actual hours may vary from day to day as flexibility of hours may be necessary to ensure a priority response for patient care. The physicians will manage their shared schedule and hours to effectively, efficiently, and timely; provide care for patients, with the aim of preventing patients’ hospital admissions or facilitating patients’ discharges from hospital. In this group service contract position the family practitioner will share after-hours coverage with the other practitioners of the PRT.
