Bring your clinical expertise and passion for providing quality, compassionate care to a challenging and rewarding role as a Nurse Practitioner with the Associate Medical Clinic in the City of Rossland in the Kootenay Boundary Region of BC.

Work where you play in this four-season lifestyle opportunity. You will be joining a multi-practitioner clinic that has provided care to the Rossland area for over 40 years. Situated in the walkable downtown core of Rossland, BC on the Powder Highway, you will be practicing rural family medicine in the home of a world-class ski resort, Red Mountain with hundreds of kilometres of biking trails and an 18-hole golf course at your doorstep, and close proximity to lakes, hiking and camping. No matter the season, Rossland is a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts.

You’ll be joining a collegial team of practitioners and knowledgeable, experienced staff. The Associate Medical Clinic is in downtown Rossland, in a local heritage building. We have 3 doctors, part-time nursing and social work, and will be looking to expand PCN resources going forward. There are 3 exam rooms and our administrative staff includes an office manager and 3 part-time MOAs. Our EMR is Med Access.

We have the lowest overhead in the region, and work with medical learners on a regular basis. As a member of the practice, you’ll have a lot of independence and control over your schedule, leaving you a lot of time to enjoy all the benefits of living in a small mountain town. We are very supportive of a balanced lifestyle, and taking care of ourselves and our families, in addition to our community.
All the physicians at our clinic have mixed practices combining clinic work with work at KBRH (15 minutes from the clinic, which offers specialist services) or with other sub-specialties including Maternity Care, Palliative Care, Sexual Assault, Mental Health, Hospitalist, Emergency Medicine and Functional Medicine. Associate Medical Clinic is part of the Kootenay Boundary Primary Care Network (KB PCN), which is a partnership between the Ministry of Health, Interior Health, the Kootenay Boundary Division of Family Practice, and Aboriginal Partners. All aspects of the clinic are aligned with delivery of culturally competent care.

The Nurse Practitioner will deliver the full scope of primary health care services for their panel of patients (rural panel goal is 800 patients pro-rated for FTE), including but not limited to:

Health promotion and illness prevention services;
Primary care for minor or episodic illnesses;
Chronic disease management;

Relevant clinical nursing experience, including clinical knowledge and real passion for providing quality, compassionate care to motivate and inspire others.;
Strong understanding of provision of culturally safe care for patients;
