Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum for Healthcare Workers

SWITCH BC recently highlighted a free e-learning resource —

The de-escalation tools were developed through the Community Physician Health and Safety (CPHS) Program and co-developed by Doctors of BC in consultation with the Ministry of Health, with input from medical office staff and physicians across BC.

It’s a great starting point for staff who have not yet taken a workplace violence or de-escalation course, and a useful refresher for those who have. The site also includes practical scripts, tip sheets, and posters that can be displayed around the clinic.

You can access the resources here:

These tools focus on calming tense situations and supporting respectful conversations with patients and families.

PAS & EMR Reconciliation Webinars: Additional Dates Added

Do you receive a Longitudinal Family Physician (LFP) panel payment or an FPSC Community Longitudinal Family Physician (CLFP) payment?

To help you prepare for the upcoming panel payment methodology changes, the Family Practice Services Committee (FPSC) Practice Support Program (PSP) and the Ministry of Health Provincial Attachment System (PAS) are offering additional webinars to help you learn how to reconcile your PAS panel with your EMR panel.

During this session, you will learn:

  • How to update your panel in PAS
  • How to use the PAS reconciliation tool
  • How to access your patient list from select EMRs (Med Access, OSCAR, and Profile)

The session will include an opportunity for questions and answers.

Please note: The content will be the same as the June session, and you are welcome to attend again.

To follow along with PAS reconciliation during the webinar, please ensure you have access to PAS beforehand. The Ministry of Health webinar on PAS access and navigation is available here.

If you have any questions, please contact psp@doctorsofbc.ca.
