Nurse Practitioners For BC
Nurse practitioners provide many of the same front-line health care services as family doctors. Some specialize in particular populations, such as frail elderly patients or those with mental health and substance use issues. By bringing more nurse practitioners into Langley’s health system, we are able to support more patients overall and provide more in-depth care to groups who need it.
Our Division has worked with Fraser Health Authority (FHA) to bring in two nurse practitioners for older adult population. We have also been able to provide nurse practitioner care for other key populations, including the homeless or those at risk of homelessness, and mothers and babies.
We continue to work collaboratively with our community partners such as the Salvation Army, Stepping Stone, and Langley Senior Resources Society, as well as the Fraser Health Authority to provide primary care to those most in need.
