"The qathet Division of Family Practice wishes to take time on this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation to reaffirm our commitment to cultural safety and humility within the health care system in our region. We have taken some steps forward in this vital work, including receiving Tla'amin Nation's support for changing our division's name to qathet this past year, and having our board and staff complete the San'yas Indigenous Cultural Safety Training. We continue to prioritize a close relationship with Tla'amin Nation, with regular meetings where we share experiences, ideas, and stories and continue to collaborate on ways to make the health care system inclusive and safe for everyone. We know there is a lot of work yet to be done, and we're honoured to have a positive and effective relationship with Tla'amin as we move forward."
