Financial Incentives

There are financial benefits to practicing family medicine in the Cariboo Chilcotin, and various incentives are available for family medicine practitioners choosing to work in rural and remote communities through MoH Rural Practice Programs.  Rural Practice Programs manage a number of key programs such as the Rural Retention program and programs under the Rural Practice Subsidiary Agreement (RSA), a subsidiary agreement of the Physician Master Agreement (PMA). The Rural Programs Guide offers a brief synopsis of the programs and support available through the RSA.

Additional support for community integration is available through the Cariboo Healthcare Landing Program, an innovative program funded through the Cariboo Chilcotin Regional Hospital District, in partnership with the City of Williams Lake and the District of 100 Mile House. The program can provide support with accommodation (rentals & real estate needs), community information, daycare and schooling, religious and cultural supports, sports, hobbies and more.

The table below outlines the incentives available to rural physicians practicing in Williams Lake and 100 Mile House. Rural incentives are subject to change and confirmed at time of offer.  For more information on our current rural incentives, including the Cariboo Healthcare Landing Program, please contact Andrea Moe.
