The operational leadership and governance of the Campbell River & District PCN is a partnership between the First Nations Health Authority, Island Health and the Campbell River & District Division of Family Practice. The partnership is built on a mutual commitment and demonstrated history of successfully integrating primary care resources in the community.
The PCN Steering Committee collaboratively oversees PCN governance. It consults and engages with the community to enable access to quality primary health care that effectively meets the needs of patients and populations within Campbell River & District.
The PCN Steering Committee is comprised of:
- Local Indigenous partners
- Local patient partners
- Community partners
- Physician partners from local primary care practices
- Nurse practitioners
- The Division of Family Practice
- Island Health partners
- The First Nations Health Authority
Established alongside the PCN Steering Committee (SC), the PCN Indigenous Advisory (IA), the IA is comprised of partners from member nations and organizations within the local geography of the PCN boundaries. The IA collectively has responsibility to ensure that the Indigenous voice and that cultural safety practices are assured as part of the operationalization of the PCN services, as defined in the PCN service plan and as part of the local network of primary care services.
