North Shore Division of Family Practice

Mental Health & Substance Use

North Shore Community Committee on Substance Use (NSCCSU)

The goal of the group is to promote and catalyze the health and safety of people who use substances.

The NSCCSU serves as North Shore’s venue for engagement, collaboration, and learning about substance use initiatives. This committee has more than 35 community members from diverse organizations and groups including: Squamish Nation, Tsleil-Waututh Nation, Vancouver Coastal Health, the District and Municipalities of North and West Vancouver, multiple community non-profit organizations, and other community substance use service providers.

Psychiatric Adolescent & Child Teleconferencing Service (PACTS)

The PACTS program was established in 2020 to increase access to child and youth psychiatry. The program provides family physicians the opportunity to have a direct consultation with a North Shore child and youth psychiatrist about mental health and/or substance use concerns of their patients (age 24 years and under).
