Jenn holds a BSc from McGill, an MSc in health policy and economics from the University of Toronto, and an MD from Queen's University. She completed a residency in family medicine in Victoria in 2010.
Her background in both health policy and family medicine is an asset to the Division. Her MSc work focused on cost effectiveness in health care delivery, especially within the context of Canada's public health care system and resulted in seven published articles over 18 months at U of T. Her research-based thesis "Valuing Patient and Caregiver Time" was completed under the supervision of a leading research scientist in health economics.
Since January 2012, she has shared a full service family practice clinic with a colleague. Jennifer has a special interest in maternity care and has acted as the co-head of the Division of Family Practice obstetrics since that time as well.
She has also been active in family medicine teaching since completing her own residency and, over the past year, has become involved with Division initiatives including the Collaborative Maternity Clinic, the development of a Primary Health Care Centre, and as a member of the A GP for Me committee.
Jenn is passionate about family medicine and continues to build its profile and depth in our community and feels she is fortunate to work within a group of such excellent practitioners.
