Dr Sheri Bentley

Dr. Bentley has been practicing family medicine for 10 years. She graduated from rural Family Medicine Residency based out of Medicine Hat in 2005, and began practicing in the community where she grew up, Airdrie, Alberta. While there, she had a full-scope practice, including urgent care, inpatient (hospitalist) and obstetrics. Airdrie became part of the Highland Primary Care Network (similar to Divisions) and was Medical Director for three years before abandoning the prairies for mountain life!

She has now been living in Fernie and practicing family medicine with emergency in Sparwood since October 2013, taking four months off for a maternity leave. She believes the East Kootenays is a beautiful area with friendly people and is perfect for raising a family! The best things - other than the people - are skiing and mountain biking, which she converted to from triathlon. She had been modestly successful in triathlon, competing in the Age Group World Championships in London, England in 2013, and Edmonton, AB in 2014.

She believes the Division will help bring family medicine practitioners together in new ways, to help promote comprehensive care for patients.
