A graduate of the University of Saskatchewan Family Medicine and Enhanced Surgical Skills (ESS) programs. After piloting the ESS training program in 2006/7, Vikki began her career as an ESS FP in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. During her four years in Meadow Lake she made yearly trips to serve as an MD and physician preceptor for University of Saskatchewan medical students at a rural hospital in Zimbabwe.
With family roots in BC, Vikki finally made her way back to the province in 2013, joining a 10-physician clinic in Revelstoke where she works as an ESS FP.
Vikki and her colleagues are passionate about full-service health care delivery in rural Canada, including the provision of rural surgical and operative obstetric care. Building provincial, regional, and community capacity to support the small-volume rural surgical programs that underpin rural primary care homes and the patients they serve is a primary focus of the Revelstoke Chapter of the Rural and Remote Division of Family Practice. Vikki is the physician lead for the Revelstoke Chapter.
Revelstoke is a perfect setting for Vikki to peruse her personal passions for snowboarding and mountain biking, which contribute to a good work/life balance.
