| 2-3 Full or part time family physicians | Qualicum Medical Centre, Qualicum Beach, BC |
Full or part time turn-key opportunity with no up-front costs. You would be joining another long-established family physician in practicing in the beautiful beachside community of Qualicum Beach, with the aim of having 3 or 4 physicians in the clinic. The clinic is centrally located, walkable, and bright. Qualified, experienced existing staff are happy to stay on. There is lots of scope here to either take on the existing patient panel (time-sensitive), or start your own new practice. The area has a patient wait-list and the local Division of Family Practice will assist you in either assumption of the existing panel or building your new panel so that you can make your practice work for you from day 1. The existing EMR is Wolf, but this could easily be transitioned to MedAccess (as used by the other physician at the practice). This community is a resilient, largely senior community, resulting in significantly higher MSP billings, and enjoys rural recruitment incentives, fee premiums and annual flat fees for practitioners that live and work in the community. Welcome Package
For new physicians in the Oceanside area, or even if you are thinking of moving or starting your practice here, we have produced a great Welcome Package to help you find your feet and access all that Oceanside has to offer!
Working with family practitioners in the Oceanside Division of Family Practice offers diverse opportunities. If you are semi-retired or if you are a recent graduate seeking the experience of a part-time service in one of the most pleasant climates in Canada, our Division of Family Practice physicians would like to discuss potential opportunities with you!
It is easy to integrate into our community, develop a mentoring relationship with experienced peers, and bring your practice preferences to fruition. You may support a team of physicians in one office setting or practice with two or more general practitioners in a number of clinic settings. You can check out our Locum Page for temporary practice options, too.
Return-of-Service Family Physicians
Island Health requires an equitable, consistent and transparent process to inform which Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) designated communities and practices are eligible to recruit Family Physicians who have a return-of-service (ROS) contract with the Ministry of Health (MoH) due to their completion programs focused on helping International Medical Graduates (IMGs) obtain a license to practice medicine in British Columbia.
