JOIN US for the 3RD ANNUAL Pills of Knowledge - October 5, 2019
Pills of Knowledge is the third in a series of clinical CME events sponsored by the Northern Interior Rural Division and partners. It is modeled after a successful program established by the South Island Division. The World Café model has proven itself as an effective delivery model that gives family practitioners broader skill sets and access to specialists’ knowledge and support, which in turn leads to quality patient care and deeper levels of attachment.
The key objectives of the project are:
- Establish an evidence based forum for best rural practice.
- Use technology and travel funding to connect specialists and primary care providers.
- Use case based examples to enhance rural patient care.
- Provide CME closer to home in a practical and clinically relevant format.
- Establish clinical working relationships between rural practitioners, specialists, nurse practitioners, students and residents that can grow.
- Mitigate clinical isolation for rural practitioners.
- Enhance retention by improving the quality and job satisfaction of rural practitioners.
- Enhance recruitment by exposing medical students and residents to the full scope of rural practice and a model of supportive specialist collaboration.
