Do you want a space where you can connect with your peers, knowledge share and compare notes with other local MOAs? Consider linking to the Abbotsford Division MOA Network. Reach out to info@adofp.ca for the next meet up date this summer.

On January 21, 2020, MOAs and Nurses joined LifeLabs at the Abbotsford Division office to enhance their knowledge of lab testing, interpretation of specific results, specific questions or problems with testing and to get their questions answered. This was a very well-attended event with great engagement and discussion.

Stay tuned for your next great event!

Advanced MOA Program

In 2015, the Abbotsford Division of Family Practice partnered with the University of the Fraser Valley to develop the first run of the Advanced Medical Office Assistant program. Updated for 2020, we are proud to be offering bursaries for another run of this program*.

But what’s in it for you?

MOAs
The program’s every other week format allows you the room to still manage the busiest of schedules, allowing time for family and friends. With a $2000 bursary upfront and another $1500 upon completion, this program will cost you nothing aside from your textbooks & supplies, (which are expected to be approximately $300.00.)

Physicians
The course schedule ensures that this program will not interfere with the regular work week. Advanced MOAs will have a deeper understanding of billing practices, chronic disease management, and various other skills. In fact, your MOA will work with you on an improvement project for your clinic, bettering clinic operations and strengthening their bond with the clinic and staff.

*Due to the events of 2020 the program was postponed, but look for new program start dates in 2021!
