Clearwater is located in BC’s interior, 125 km north of Kamloops, in the beautiful North Thompson Valley and gateway to world renowned Wells Gray Provincial Park. The area offers an abundance of outdoor experiences no matter what season. Clearwater’s greatest asset is its citizens. They care deeply about their community and their neighbours, and pull together when times are tough. View RCCbc's interactive rural community map to learn more about Clearwater and its location.
Clearwater’s five physicians work in a group practice and offer full-service medical care, including Emergency and In-patient services at the local hospital. They serve a population base of approximately 5,000 people, with an increase during the summer tourism season. The area ranges from Little Fort, 30 km to the south, to Blue River, which is 105 km north.
With the support and assistance of the Rural and Remote Division of Family Practice team, the Clearwater Chapter is looking forward to addressing gaps in care, enhancing office management, and promoting those aspects of care that are challenging to deliver.
