eNotification is an automated electronic notification of hospital admissions, deaths in hospital, and hospital discharges from Island Health facilities to community FPs who use compatible EMRs:
- Excelleris’s Launchpad application
- 360 Health Logic
- Elliott Meditech
- QHR Technologies (Accuro)
- Telus Health - Med Access
- Telus Health – PS Suite
- Telus Health – Wolf
- Oscar - all Service Vendors
It reaches users around the province and 92% of physicians in the Island Health region.
The Victoria/ South Island Divisions of Family Practice Transitions in Care committee was instrumental in developing the eNotification system, contributing clinical expertise to its technical design and testing, and piloting the system prior to its launch. In June 2017, all technical and clinical support was handed off to Island Health, making eNotification 100% sustainable.
In 2021, we published an article in the Journal of Applied Social Science describing the results of our work on eNotification.
