FPSC Long-term Care Grant


Eligible FPs will have received the below information from Doctors of BC/FPSC:

The Family Practice Services Committee (FPSC) has approved a one-time $10,000 Long-term Care Grant to family physicians who are actively participating in the FPSC Long-term Care Initiative and who commit to maintaining long-term care services until December 31, 2023. The grant is intended to support family physicians to maintain long-term care services until a long term payment model is implemented for family physicians providing long-term care services.

To be eligible for the grant, family physicians must meet all the following requirements:

  • Be actively participating in the FPSC Long-term Care Initiative (LTCI) as of June 30, 2023, and providing long-term care services according to the following best practice expectations:
    • 24/7 availability (as a collective group) and on-site attendance when required.
    • Proactive visits to residents
    • Meaningful medication reviews
    • Completed documentation.
    • Attendance at case conferences
  • Provide MRP care for a minimum of 5 long-term care beds.
  • Commit to maintaining long-term care services according to the LTCI best practice expectations until December 31, 2023.

To apply for the grant, please complete this online application form by July 31, 2023. The application form will require you to confirm that you understand and meet the requirements of the grant.

After FPSC has reviewed and approved your application, Doctors of BC will send you an email confirming the payment, and the payment will be remitted to the same bank account that you have linked to receive sessional payments from Doctors of BC. Please login to your Doctors of BC account (My Account > My Details > Bank Accounts) to verify that your bank account is linked.
