In Uptown Walmart, UMC is situated in one of Victoria’s highest patient traffic areas, and our walk-in clinic consistently sees over 100 patients a day. We have six modern, fully equipped exam rooms, a minor op’s treatment room, and a doctor’s office. We are fully EMR on OSCAR, with remote access to your charts.
We have great flexibility in hours available and an incoming doctor can choose the proportion of WI to family practice work but the ideal situation might be to work 2/3 WI some of which is open access time for regular FP patients, and 1/3 booked or open-access family practice concentrating on the highly remunerated but more time demanding areas of chronic care, complex care and mental health. This model results in higher pay, lower overhead, happy patients, happy doctors, and a well-cared-for community.
