Dr. Shah has been practicing in Surrey since 1996 and in Canada since 1990. After completing his medical degree at Manchester Medical School in the UK, Dr. Shah worked for 5 years in Port Hardy. In 1996, he arrived in Surrey, where he opened a solo practice, adding a Dermatology focus in 2000. Now a member of a group practice at Amari clinic, Dr. Shah has a long history of serving both as a Family Physician and as a leader within the Family Physician community.
In the 2000s, Dr. Shah served on the Board of the BC Family Doctors (then Society of GPs) as well as the Doctors of BC Board (then BCMA). He has also acted as the secretary/treasurer of the Surrey Memorial Hospital medical staff.
In 2021, Dr. Shah completed the FPSC Leadership and Management Development Program at SFU- knowledge that he applies to the many leadership roles he holds at the SND Division of Family Practice. In addition to being a Member-at-large of the SND Division Board of Directors, Dr. Shah is also a member of the PMH Committee, the PCN Overall Steering Committee and one of our Neighbourhood Steering Committees.
When he has spare time, Dr. Shah enjoys playing pickleball – a hobby that his daughters enjoy teasing him about.
