Brian brings over 25 years of health care leadership experience to the Division. He has held several senior positions including Executive Director and CEO of both acute and long-term care organizations in British Columbia and Saskatchewan. Brian was Executive Director for the Catholic Health Council of Saskatchewan, which operated several hospitals in the province; CEO of the Armstrong, Enderby and Spallumcheen, and Sea-to-Sky Community Health Councils in BC; and CEO of KinVillage, a campus of care for seniors in Tsawwassen, BC.
Brian’s experience has provided him with ongoing opportunities to collaborate with family physicians in strategic and operational planning, resulting in increased scope and access to primary and secondary care services, and enhanced working relationships between family physicians and specialists. He has been consistently active in a number of provincial organizations including serving as the Chair of the Saskatchewan Health Care Association and as a member of the Credentials Committee of the College of Physicians of Surgeons of Saskatchewan.
Brian has also been very active in the communities where he has lived, recognizing that health care services are integral to a vibrant and progressive community. His leadership in the community included serving as Co-Chair of the Saskatchewan Winter Games, Chair of the Economic Development Corporation in Melville, Saskatchewan, and coaching minor hockey. Brian has also been a member of community service organizations such as Rotary International and Kiwanis.
Brian and his wife, Mona, have two children and three grandchildren, all residing in BC.
