Operational Leadership and Governance

The operational leadership and governance of the South Peace PCN is a collaborative partnership between the First Nations Health Authority, Northern Health, and the South Peace Division of Family Practice.

This partnership is grounded in a shared commitment and proven history of integrating primary care resources to meet the needs of the community, ensuring culturally safe, accessible, and comprehensive care for all.


PCN Steering Committee

The PCN Steering Committee plays a key role in guiding the governance of the South Peace Primary Care Network (PCN). The committee collaborates with the community to ensure access to quality primary health care that meets the unique needs of patients and populations in the region.

Committee Members Include:

  • Local patient partners
  • Community partners
  • Physician partners from local primary care practices
  • Nurse practitioners
  • The Division of Family Practice
  • Island Health partners
  • First Nations Health Authority

PCN Indigenous Advisory (IA)

Established alongside the PCN Steering Committee, the PCN Indigenous Advisory (IA) ensures that Indigenous voices are central to the planning and delivery of PCN services. The IA is responsible for promoting cultural safety practices as part of PCN operations, aligning services with the PCN Service Plan, and ensuring culturally responsive care across the local network of primary care services.

Together, the Steering Committee and Indigenous Advisory work to create a primary care network that is inclusive, culturally safe, and responsive to the diverse needs of the South Peace community.
