Meeting the Communication Challenge: Building Your Toolbox Workshop

Date: Wednesday, September 18th, 2024

Description:  Let's face it – effectively communicating all day long is an exhausting venture. This course demonstrates to participants how best to polish, refine and apply communication skills that build their resiliency, keep them energized and ensure conversations are productive, clear, and assertive.

Learning objectives include:

  • Honing five key communication skills for navigating dialogue efficiently: Agreeing, normalizing, reframing, speaking transparently, and questioning.
  • Refining non-verbal and para-verbal skills to enhance communication.
  • Setting limits on objectionable behavior.

MOA Billing and Your Burning Questions Webinar

Date: Wednesday, April 24th, 2024

Description: During this MOA webinar, we will discussed the Transition Code, WorkSafe BC, and ICBC billing under the LFP model, and best practices for physicians billing for longitudinal care and walk-in appointments. We also covered managing billing for physicians working in multiple locations and offered support for updating patient panels in the PAS. Questions and/or scenarios commonly encountered that were submitted ahead of the webinar date were address during the webinar to ensure the session meets your needs.

Description:  We will host another round of Emergency First Aid and CPR Certification with Life Preservers First Aid Training. This course provides the skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for adults, children, and babies. It also includes how to perform rescue breathing.  It includes using an automated external defibrillator (AED), also known as the 'shock machine'.

MOA Appreciation Brunch and Learn Event

Date: February 11, 2024

Description: We are thrilled to host our annual in-person MOA Appreciation Event at the Holiday Inn. The agenda includes hands-on Naloxone training, MOA updates, voting for next year’s support topics, a prize raffle, and a delicious brunch buffet.

Description: Virtual drop-in session for MOAs to bring any questions they have about the LFP Panel Submissions, PAS (Provincial Attachment System), GP Link, Pathways, and more.

 

 

Stress Reduction and Burnout Prevention Workshop

Date: Thursday, September 21st, 2023

Description: Suitable for those working in a range of organizations, this introductory workshop provides staff with evidence-based mindfulness tools for managing stress, preventing burnout, and supporting well-being.

MOA Webinar: Cortico

Date: June 7, 2023

Description: Cortico is a patient engagement platform that works seamlessly with Oscar EMR. In this demo, Cortico Health demonstrated tips and tricks on how to use Oscar more efficiently. They showcased Cortico with new features to reduce burnout and eliminate the tedious tasks doctors and MOAs go through.

MOA Appreciation Brunch and Learn Event

Date: February 12, 2023

Description: We held our annual MOA Appreciation Event at the Pinnacle Hotel. The attendees enjoyed a scavenger hunt, and a great prize raffle, and cast their votes for their favorite support topics they would like to see in the coming year.
