Primary Care Clinics:

Fort St. John has three clinics and Hudson's Hope has one. In Fort St. John, family doctors may also provide inpatient care, maternity and emergency services in the hospital. There are also opportunities to practice in other areas such as at the Opioid Agonist Therapy Clinic, Surgical Assists, and outreach to Indigenous communities to name a few.

• Fort St John Family Practice Associates: 5 practices, 1 Nurse Practitioner, 1 LPN. Compensation is a unique funding model developed in Fort St John called the “Northern Blended Funding Model.” - See advertisement

• North Peace Primary Care Clinic: 7 practices, 1 LPN. Compensation is the new LFP model.

• ABC Medical Clinic: 6 practices, 1 LPN. Compensation is the new LFP model.

Each clinic has its own compensation model and family doctors may be eligible to receive the following:

• Rural retention premium: 21.7% over and above base fees

• Monthly retention premium approximately $2,800 per month after 9 months of work in the community

• MOCAP

• REEF

Northern Health Incentives

• Recruitment incentive for physicians recruited to fill current or pending vacancies $20,000 Rural programs and incentives | Physicians

• Relocation Stipend: $9,000 if moving within BC, $12,000 if moving within Canada, and $15,000 if moving from out of Canada - Rural programs and incentives | Physicians

Residency Program:

Fort St John has a very successful teaching program which includes up to 4 R1’s and 4 R2’s each year. The retention rate is very high with 2 or 3 out of 4 residents deciding to stay and practice in the community each year.

The Fort St. John Hospital - New, modern, and well-equipped:

• ER Locums

• Option 1 income guarantee (includes FFS, RRP, and MOCAP):
  Morning shift: 5 am to 1 pm, $2,820/weekday or $2,972/weekend
  Afternoon shift: 1 pm to 8 pm, $2,417/weekday or $2,569/weekend
  Night shift: 8 pm to 5 am, $3,376 weekday or weekend

• Option 2 (no income guarantee):
  FFS: You can expect to earn $3,380 - $4,030 FFS/shift (includes $1,000 shift stipend, 21.70% MSP premium, and $25.68 MOCAP).
• Travel, accommodation, and car rental covered.
• Travel stipend: $250 - $1,500 based on time. Maximum $1,500 per round trip.
