Administrative Assistant – Start date flexible
The Opportunity
The Ridge Meadows Division of Family Practice is looking for the right person who wants to make a difference in our local community improving health care using their extraordinary administration and customer service skills.
The Administrative Assistant is a 40 hour full time employment contract position (up until March 2019 with good potential to renew) that will support the organization’s efforts in a variety of exciting initiatives. The successful candidate will also be open to the reduction of hours as projects close and then flexibility of increased hours as projects are approved. The candidate must be able to work/coordinate early morning meetings (7am start) and evening meetings (6PM start).
This flexibility is ideal for someone who wants to have work/life balance, work towards outcomes, and values a non-traditional job environment that is not 9 to 5.

The Organization

Our Mission: To provide improved patient care and physician satisfaction by supporting and enhancing the role of primary care physicians by having an organization that has meaningful communication and partnerships with Health Authorities, Ministry of Health, key stakeholders and the Community at Large.
The Ridge Meadows Division of Family Practice (RMDFP) is a non-profit society that has been incorporated since 2010 serving the Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows areas. RMDFP provides approximately 117 members with a strong voice to ensure that our members are at the forefront of positive change in our health care system for patients.
The Work
Your week will always be an administration surprise that your quick learning and willing attitude can dive into. Supporting the entire team and the variety of projects to improve health care in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows – will never leave you feeling bored.
You could be spending 2 weeks meeting a data entry deadline with collecting and entering all the Medical Office Assistant contact information in our contact management database. In between that you could be preparing meeting packages and delivering them to the Project Manager at the meeting venue. You will enjoy attending our larger member event planning meetings and supporting our annual summer BBQ, our fundraising walk and cycle event or annual general meeting.
After your data entry deadline, you could spend a few days proof reading our latest medical community resource guide or supporting our accounting work with payable coordination and filing.
Your days will be filled with team spirit and lots of laughs. A staff meeting could be a walk ‘n talk at the dykes for some fresh thinking, or a cozy breakfast fireside at the Executive Director’s home in your comfy clothes.
You end your week with work satisfaction, accomplishment and feeling part of a GREAT team doing GREAT things helping our community.
The Responsibility
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- General Administration and Operational Support
- Meeting Scheduling & Management Support
- Member Engagement Support
- Event Management & Coordination Support
- Database Management Support
- Marketing and Communications Support
- Providing admin support as needed to Projects and Division Initiatives
Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years administrative experience
- Awesome customer service skills that can translate into member services Excellent technology and software skills with adaptability
- Excellent phone and interpersonal skills
- Event and Meeting Support
- Strong database entry
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Power Point
- Accounting support a bonus
- Familiarity with non-profit sector organizational operations is an asset
- Must have reliable vehicle.
Pay is $15/hr based on experience.
