One month into the pilot, the urban locum team reached out to participating locums for feedback. While a more detailed analysis is still underway, here are some of the locum comments:

“As a new to practice family physician and locum it has been a very supportive process. With the use of the locum matching application finding locum opportunities is quite seamless and the administrative support is wonderful.”

“I really value the ability to do a wide variety of work in a wide variety of settings with a wide variety of challenges. My ideal job gives me a lot of tough challenges and flexibility.”

“What a polished roll out!”

“I really appreciate the support from the team. It makes me feel like I know that there is a strong sense of community in Victoria.”

To date 13 locums and 73 eligible host physicians have signed up for the pilot. Following our call for EOIs from physician mentors, several physicians expressed interest and a selection process in underway. Locum mentoring will start this fall.
