Medical Community:

The Sparwood Health Centre has an interdisciplinary team that provides emergency services, ambulatory care, home health services, laboratory/diagnostic imaging, public health, chronic disease management, mental health/substance use and Primary Care Nursing. Additional support services include a Dietitian, Diabetes Educator, Respiratory Therapist, Physiotherapist and 4 medical office assistants. There is also a satellite dialysis unit that runs 6 days/week.

The emergency department closes at 7 pm – there is no overnight call requirement in Sparwood. Weekend and evening call is max 1 in 5 for a full time contract (possibly moving to 1 in 6.)

Options are available to have privileges at the Elk Valley Hospital in Fernie and Facility privileges and site privileges in Sparwood and Elkford Health Care Centres.
