In addition to his role as board co-chair for the Comox Division of Family Practice, Dr Adam Thompson operates a full-time family practice. Prior to moving to the Comox Valley in 2012, Adam practised in the UK following his graduation in 1994.
Adam brings both medical and operational expertise to the board, having established and led a leading health care organization in the UK that delivered two government-contracted clinics and an array of additional health services. He is a strong believer in collaborating with other doctors to act as patient advocates and adapting health care delivery to meet evolving needs. He has a keen interest in primary care issues, including depression, cardiology, and chronic disease management.
Adam also enjoys spending time with his family (wife, two children, two dogs, and three cats, all of whom made the trip from the UK, along with a 40-foot container), skiing, sailing, and cycling. Among his most memorable experiences is the time Princess Diana waved at him when he was a student returning home from a pub.
