I am a family doctor practicing on the North Shore. Originally, I am from Winnipeg. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Winnipeg, being awarded the gold medal in chemistry, and completed my Medical Degree, Family Medicine Degree and Emergency Medicine Certification at the University of Manitoba. My family and I moved to the North Shore three years ago. I am a retired emergency room physician. I specialize in women’s health and was faculty in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Manitoba, where I was involved in teaching both OBGYNE as well as family medicine resident in our women's health clinic. I have been involved in committee work throughout residency. I was Chief Resident of my family practice residency program. I sat on our Provincial Association of  Interns and Residence (Manitoba) (Parim) while in training. I was  also board member of CAIR – the Canadian Association of Interns and Residents. As a family doctor I was involved in the development of guidelines for establishing certified Electronic Medical Records standards in Manitoba. My clinic was involved in pilot projects and development of chronic care initiatives. Here in BC I am involved in teaching  family practice residents. I also teach Med 1 and Med 2 students. It was a natural progression for me to become involved in local initiatives of public health. These are exciting times and I am thrilled to be the Chair of the North Shore Division of Family Practice.
