Primary Care and Addictions Medicine for the vulnerable population  (posted: April 3)

Island Health is planning services for vulnerable populations in the inner city in order to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 and reduce its spread. There is an urgent need for Primary Care and Addictions Medicine to work in Island Health facilities that are being developed, as well as to do outreach to shelter sites. Some medical care could be in-person but there will likely be options for virtual care as well. Remuneration will be by sessional payments.

Island Health: redeployment into alternative acute or community practice settings (posted: March 31)

Island Health has a process in place for potential redeployment into alternative acute or community practice settings. Redeployed physicians need to be in active practice, and will need to be credentialed (including expedited credentialing as needed) by Island Health. The College and CMPA have expressed support for physicians who expand their scope. Recently retired physicians have been asked to register with the college directly.
