Primary Care network
What Is a Primary Care Network?
Primary care is the first point of access into B.C.’s health care system. Primary Care Networks (PCN) are community-based networks of health care professionals and clinics who work with the community to develop local healthcare solutions to meet the unique needs of their community. In addition to patients, the Shuswap North Okanagan PCN team is made up of family physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, registered dietitians, physiotherapists, pharmacists, and others.
The goal of the Shuswap North Okanagan PCN is to strengthen and support primary healthcare so that everyone in our region can access the care they need. By working closely as a team, PCN patients and families will receive clinic, community, and Interior Health-based services in supportive, inclusive and safe environments.
The Shuswap North Okanagan currently has four separate PCN nodes:
- Vernon (includes Vernon, Lumby and Armstrong)
- Salmon Arm (includes Salmon Arm, Sicamous, Sorrento and Enderby)
- Splatsin
- Okanagan Indian Band
