IH ED Visits per 100 LTC Beds Report
Overall, Interior Health saw a rate increase of 4% in Emergency Department (ED) visits per 100 Long-term care (LTC) beds from 2016/17 to 2019/20. In 2016/17, the rate, by Division of Family Practice region, ranged from 31 in Kootenay Boundary to 74 in Shuswap North Okanagan. These rates increased to 41 in Kootenay Boundary and decreased to 61 in Shuswap North Okanagan in 2019/20. Shuswap North Okanagan had the largest decrease (-17%) and Central Interior Rural had the largest increase (69%) year over year.
