Cheryl Ashlie, Project Manager
Cheryl Ashlie has lived in Maple Ridge since 1995 with her husband, Dean, and three children. Cheryl has been very active in the community through volunteering, which earned her the Maple Ridge Community Foundation’s annual Citizen of the Year Award in 2017. Cheryl was also elected to the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Board of Education for three terms, followed by two terms as a City Councillor for Maple Ridge. Opting to leave local politics to start her consulting business, Ashlie Board Consulting: The ABCs of Effective Board Governance, where she uses her governance knowledge and skills to support non-profit organizations.
Cheryl also writes a bi-weekly column for the News, called McDuff’s Call and continues to volunteer as the President of the Alouette River Management Society, Secretary for the Ridge Meadows Education Foundation and is a member of the fundraising committee for the Youth Wellness Centre, soon to be Foundry Ridge Meadows. Cheryl enjoys spending time with her family, especially her two grandsons, acrylic painting, hiking and vacationing with friends and family at their cabin on Ruxton Island.
