The Richmond Division of Family Practice offers a unique one-stop shop for both locums and GP members who are looking for employment in the area. Services we provide include:

  1. Providing a central point of contact for locums to find work and GP members to find practice coverage.
  2. Facilitating the matching of schedules and practice preferences to that of our 200 GP members who practice in Richmond.
  3. Helping with resources such as contract templates, an orientation checklist, and list of specialty and community resources for physicians new to Richmond.
  4. Managing an up-to-date list of locum opportunities on the Richmond Division and Society of General Practitioners of BC website to assist member GPs in locating locum support.

A 3-GP group practice seeking a locum. Located in Richmond city centre, this is a busy full service family practice with excellent office staff and Oscar EMR. Great access to restaurants, Richmond Centre and transits. Free parking.

Part of the Westminster Neighbourhood Network, a network of GPs supported by multiple allied health resources, such as a psychiatrist and a geriatrician in a shared care approach.

This is a well-established 7 GP group practice with modern office, excellent staff, OSCAR EMR, pharmacy and lab in building. Located in a high-density residential area in central Richmond, next to mall with free parking, restaurants and shops.

Part of the Blundell Neighbourhood Network, a network of GPs supported by multiple allied health resources, such as a chronic disease nurse, psychiatrist, geriatrician and clinical pharmacist, in a shared care approach.

City Center

Gilbert Rd & Westminster Hwy


Seeking a locum to cover maternity leave. This is a busy, long-established, friendly, collegial 4 GP family practice with excellent and knowledgeable staff. Other GP colleagues are very experienced and provide great support. Lovely English-speaking only patient population, ranging from newborns to the elderly. Wolf EMR. 

Prime medical building with X-ray, lab, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and all specialties nearby. Richmond Hospital is across the street. Hospital privileges, obstetrics optional. Surgical assists available.

Office opens Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. Flexible work days and hours; likely a combined minimum of 3 total days per week to provide adequate coverage.

Early June, July-Aug, first two weeks of September, 2020


No 1 Rd & Chatham St

This is a well-established practice with Med Access/OSCAR EMR, excellent staff and 10 supportive GP colleagues in the same building located in the heart of beautiful Steveston Village.

Part of the Steveston Neighbourhood Network, a group of 10 GPs that have brought in allied health resources. Great access to shops, restaurants and Fisherman’s Wharf.

2-3 weeks between August-September 2020

City Center

Westminster Hwy & Gilbert Rd

Located in Richmond City Center, this is a well-established solo practice with supportive GP colleagues practicing in the same building. Highly competent MOA. Med Access EMR. Steps away from Richmond Hospital.
