The Role of an MOA
Family physicians and their administrators – medical office assistants (MOAs) and office staff - operate as a team in patient care delivery – building and sustaining the foundations and functions of a family practice and Patient Medical Home (PMH).
The skills and services provided by MOAs are integral to:
- Efficient and effective clinic operations; and
- comprehensive care coordination and navigation within the patient's care community.
The MOA performs routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians running smoothly. All tasks must be delivered to meet standards and procedures established by BC College of Physicians and Surgeons and Clinic Management.
