In BC, there are some specific populations that require specialized programs or initiatives to best met their needs. Initiated in March 2013 by the Fraser Northwest Division of Family Practice in partnership with Fraser Health, the Frail Elderly Nurse Practitioner Program involves nurse practitioners (NPs) – working collaboratively with physicians – providing routine and urgent care for frail elderly, homebound patients in their own homes. These patients either do not have a family doctor or, if they do, don’t visit their family doctor as often as needed for optimal care. >
The Abbotsford Division is a formal member of the Coordinating Committee for the Abbotsford Youth Health Centre, and represents the voice of the Abbotsford medical community on the committee. A member of the division is one of four co-chairs for the Youth Health Centre. >
