A GP for Me Events

A GP for Me is a joint initiative of the Government of BC and Doctors of BC, created with the goals of enabling patients who want a family doctor to find one, increasing the capacity of the health care system, and strengthening the doctor-patient relationship. Visit the A GP for Me website.

Workshops and events relating to A GP for Me enable divisions to meet with the provincial team and health care stakeholders (including health authorities and the Ministry of Health) to find efficiencies, network, and share knowledge and experiences. You can read about and access resources from past and upcoming A GP for Me events here.

Divisions of Family Practice Provincial Round Table and A GP for Me Workshop

October 26 – 28, 2015

Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel, Vancouver, BC

The Provincial Divisions Office and A GP for Me team are excited to offer the next Provincial Round Table and A GP for Me Workshop.  We recognize that for divisions this is a period of deep discussion as you make critical decisions about how to transition your work on the A GP for Me initiative, plan for the future, and continue to create the foundation for collaborative activity.

So while we will be offering these events back to back, each day’s agenda is discrete and is purposed for a different combination of participants.  The conversations are meant to be high-level in nature, pursuing important input and engagement about where divisions, the GPSC, and their partners are going; identifying priorities; and determining what these partnerships need to look like in order to support our work together.

A GP for Me Workshop

Wednesday, October 28th, 2015

The A GP for Me Workshop is designed specifically for A GP for Me Physician Leads, Project Managers, Executive Directors/Coordinators, Evaluators, General Practice Services Committee members, and Health Authority partners.
In response to inquiries from divisions, and as the end of the A GP for Me Initiative timeline approaches, this hands-on workshop will focus on the implementation wind down process, the evaluation stage, transitioning out of the A GP for Me initiative, and how collective learnings may inform next steps and future initiatives for divisions.
