About the Northwest Psychiatry Steering Committee

The NPSC was formed in 2016 in recognition of the need for psychiatric care in the northwest region of British Columbia. The Committee brings psychiatrists and family doctors together to work towards the shared objective of improving access to psychiatric care.

The Northern Shared Care Collaboration helps fun projects.

In 2018, the Committee established the 24/7 Psychiatry On Call Program, which provides physicians phone access to an on-call psychiatrist for consultation.
