Working Better Together: Family Physicians and Community Pharmacists (FP and RPh)

Description:

On November 14, 2024, the North Shore Division of Family Practice hosted an engaging event that united family physicians, community pharmacists, and MOAs/OMs to enhance collaboration and communication.

Event Highlights:

  • Interactive Discussions: Physicians and pharmacists shared insights on the challenges they face and explored strategies to improve communication and processes.
  • Expanded Pharmacist Scope: Participants discussed the implications of the new pharmacist scope under the MACS Program, which now includes 21 minor diagnoses and the ability to order specific lab tests.
  • Focus Group Insights: Building on previous focus groups with physicians and MOAs, this event highlighted actionable suggestions for improving teamwork and streamlining care delivery.
