What is Open Practice Coaching?
Coaching is as an opportunity for GPs to work with a professional coach to more effectively manage any area of their work or lives. Open to GPs in the Kootenay Boundary, Open Practice Coaching can address transition plans, new practice design, establish effective care plan processes, practice efficiency, team building, improve staff empowerment, adopt a healthier and more sustainable approach to medical practice and life.
- Is a confidential, professional relationship, based upon mutual respect and trust. The role of the coach is to help the GP recognize his or her own knowledge, and act on it to achieve their goals.
- Helps individuals set better goals, take more action, and more fully use their natural strengths. Actions and goals align with the GP's individual values, needs and priorities.
- Strengthens and empowers GPs to be the masters of their own desired changes and improvements. The Coach works together with a GP to establish focus, promote discovery, determine actions, remove barriers and identify next steps, one conversation at a time.
