Our Impact: Chronic Pain

Background

Research shows that achieving the best health outcomes for people suffering from chronic pain involves a multidisciplinary approach, where physician-led assessments and treatments are combined with some form of body work/physical therapy, along with education, counseling and/or psychotherapy. Alternative modalities may also make a significant contribution to better health outcomes for the chronic pain sufferer.

In the Kootenay Boundary region, building awareness and understanding of the resources available is of paramount importance in helping streamline effective treatment of chronic pain.
